BBC Sounds Music Radio podcasts Joe Biden's getting ready to say goodbye to the American people, to the White House, as he's preparing to leave the Oval Office.
And it's clearly on his mind what his legacy is going to be, how he will be remembered.
He's been giving a few speeches where he's laying out what he thinks his achievements in office would be during a week, of course, when a ceasefire has been agreed between Israel and Hamas as well, something that he very much wants to get the credit for.
And it was on his mind because he began the final address he gave to America, his farewell speech from the Oval Office, started talking about that before I began.
Let me speak to important news from earlier today.
After eight months of nonstop negotiation by administration, by my administration, a ceasefire and a hostage deal has been reached by Israel and Hamas, the elements of which I laid out in great detail in May the this year this plan was developed and negotiated by my team and will be largely implemented by the incoming administration.
That's why I told my team to keep the incoming administration fully informed because that's how it should be working together as Americans.
Joe Biden's always been really interested and involved in foreign policy, much more so than a lot of other previous presidents.
And so, you know, he really wants to get the credit for what he thinks are other global achievements as well.
And overseas we strengthened NATO.
Ukraine is still free and we pulled ahead of our competition with China and so much more.
I'm so proud of how much we've accomplished together for the American people.
This is a bumper week for Americas.
We are bringing you two special episodes for the price of one because that's how much it's going to take to look back at Joe Biden's time in office.
This one, the first one, we're going to look at his global legacy, where he's left America's place in the world.
