  • But we will start in Los Angeles in the United States, which is a city that at the moment is trying to control a series of wildfires.

  • Officials say one of them is the most destructive in the city's history.

  • Two people have been killed.

  • California's governor Gavin Newsom has now declared a state of emergency here at the Palisades fire.

  • You can see behind me how quickly this is growing.

  • Hundreds and hundreds of personnel all throughout the state of California are here.

  • Coming from northern California, we pre positioned 110 engines.

  • We've got fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, dozers, water tenders, specialty personnel putting everything we can to not only suppress this fire, but to prevent additional fires over the course of the next few days.

  • The cost of the fire is already running into billions of dollars and 1.5 million people are without power, as are many businesses.
