  • Quick warning before we start.

  • This episode discusses infertility.

  • So if that's something a little bit too close to home, it might not be the one for, for you Right now let's go back to the summer of 2006.

  • I can't remember the name of the pub but it was somewhere really near our old offices in Farringdon.

  • And you turned up and you look really cool.

  • You had this cool skater skirt on and this big blonde hair and we just had the most fun time.

  • We just got on like a house on fire from the word go.

  • Really.

  • This is Lexi Topping, one of my best friends and a reporter at the Guardian.

  • She's talking about when we first met.

  • Yeah.

  • And that night I was supposed to be going on a date.

  • I was 25, I'd never met you before.

  • You were just about to join the Guardian.

  • I thought, oh, I'll go for a quick drink with her and then I'll scoot off on my date.

  • But it was just so fun.

  • There was this kind of immediate chemistry, wasn't there?
