I'm Rahul Tandon.
Happy New Year to you.
On the program, we're going to be talking about Donald Trump's favorite word, tariffs.
It could be the economic term of 2025.
And it's a big day for copyright.
In the U.S.
we're quite excited about Popeye.
Popeye the sailor man who first appeared in a comic strip called Thimble Theater.
And I think there are some people rubbing their hands about that already.
We'll find out which copyright laws are expiring and how people plan to monetize them.
But we're going to start the program by looking at South Korea's continuing political instability in 2025 and how that is affecting its economy.
South Korea's impeached president, Yoon Suk Yeol has said he'll fight to the end after an arrest warrant was issued in his name.
Supporters of the impeached president help held a protest near his residence.
So those are the sounds coming in from South Korea.
Let's bring in somebody who knows the country well, Yoo Han Koo, former trade minister of the Republic of Korea.
He's a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics as well.
Thank you so much for joining us on the program.
Once again, we have been talking to you over the last few weeks about South Korea's political instability.
It is continuing that must now be affecting its economy.
