What happens when you want to do things differently than how you were raised and yet the people who raised you are intimately involved in your life and in the raising of your children?
We have done good work from the beginning,
setting boundaries with the grandparents, saying what's important to us,
picking our battles,
planting our flag where we felt we needed to and letting other things slide when we could.
But now it's much more about a narrative.
It's much more ideological.
It's much more about like an overall approach to how we raise kids and the stories we tell about them.
And that feels a lot trickier to me to figure out how to set the boundaries or how to have those conversations.

I have two young kids.
One is almost four.
