I'm Rory Stewart, and I want to talk about ignorance.
I will die without having read everything that was written in classical Latin.
Because ignorance isn't simply the opposite of knowledge.
It's part of what it means to be human.

There's no adventure without ignorance.
There's no narrative.
The long history of ignorance, from Confucius to QAnon.
With me, Rory Stewart.

That song stirred people's hearts, even though it wasn't overtly about politics or what was happening in the civil rights movement.
The black community being really behind Marvin Gaye, for one thing.
They were really moved by it.
It was a sort of anthem, and it was also just a wonderful love song.
It gave us a respite from some of that as well, but it just had this wonderful spirit, and it made everyone feel good.
So it has its place.
It was part of our lives at that time.
Listen, baby, ain't no mountain high.
Ain't no valley low.
Ain't no river wide enough, baby, if.
