Greetings, everyone.
It's my pleasure to welcome you on this glorious Tuesday to Radio Headspace.
My name is K. Songa.
Today's episode is dedicated to that portion of our psyche.
that pertains to a person's self-esteem or self-importance.
We are sometimes aware of it and at other times fully oblivious to it.
What am I referring to?
I'm talking about the ego, faithful listeners.
To me, a healthy ego sounds like someone who is confident and has high self-esteem.
Not at the arrogant or narcissistic level, but at the appropriate level.
So in fact, they are able to humble themselves at the right time.
But with anyone, there are definitely moments when the ego takes over and gets a bit out of control.
I've been guilty of this for sure.
This brings to mind a specific incident at my local YMCA.
On this particular day, when I arrived at the gym, it was pretty much empty.
So I just went inside to quickly shoot a few hoops by myself.
I was in no shape to run a full court game.
Anyway, little by little, guys started to fill the gym.
I was easing myself out of the gym when one of the guys asked me to join in on the game.
Now, I knew I should have immediately said no, but it was a young college kid that asked me.
