He made the remarks in a phone conversation with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
President Xi Jinping says China advocates immediate ceasefire,
supports all efforts that are conducive to the restoration of peace,
and insists on resolving disputes through political and diplomatic means.
Mohammed bin Salman says Saudi Arabia is ready to work with China to maintain the ceasefire and ensure the safe
and free navigation across the Strait of Hormuz.
