Hello and welcome to Super Great Kids Stories.
Wise tales from storytellers from around the world which will make you laugh and sometimes cry.
Recommended for ages 5 to 105. I'm Kim, and I love stories.
Today we have a story from Japan about a giant of a man who has super strength.
It's an upbeat tale told by Debbie Gunaratna, who's a storyteller new to Super Great Kids Stories.
How are you, Super Great Kids?
Did you have a good week?
Some of you will be coming towards your long summer break, where you might even get to do some travelling.
I'm thinking about travel because I've been away in Scotland in the Shetland Islands.
And while you're listening to this, I'll be on my way back to London after travelling in Vietnam.
Vietnam is a long, narrow country shaped like the letter F.
It's in Southeast Asia, and it has a long coastline, which means lots of sandy beaches.
Get around?
People tend to use bicycles and mopeds rather than cars.
Crossing a road in cities buzzing with swarms of bikes is quite an event.
Just before we hear from our new storyteller, Debbie Gunaratna,
I have a little game for you while we have a quick word with the grown-ups.
The current theme is giants, witches, ogres and magical beings.
The story today is about a very tall young man called Mighty Mountain.
Some might call him a giant.
