Hi, and welcome to the Espresso English Podcast, where you can improve your English in just a few minutes a day.
My name is Shana, and I'm the teacher at Espresso English.
Make sure to visit the website, EspressoEnglish.net,
where you can get online courses and e-books that will help you learn English even faster.
Let's get started with today's lesson.
If you know basic English, but you want to sound more fluent,
then I want to invite you into my brand new challenge called Say This, Not That.
In 10 days, we'll transform 100 simple phrases into the expressions that native English speakers really use.
For example, instead of I'm nervous, we say I'm freaking out.
Instead of it's easy, we can say it's a walk in the park.
Instead of I don't understand, we can say I don't get it.
Instead of how are you, we can say what's up.
Instead of I have to leave, we can say I've got to run.
Instead of I'm not sure, we say I'm not positive.
Instead of, I'm excited, we can say, I'm pumped.
These real-life phrases will make you sound more fluent, so you can speak English more naturally and confidently.
The Say This, Not That challenge starts September 1st,
and you can sign up by clicking on the link in the podcast description.
How does the challenge work?
Every day, you'll take three simple steps.
