Hey AmeriCasters, it's getting very close to the big US election and before we get going with the podcast properly, I just want to let you know that we're going to be making day daily episodes at the moment, taking the AmericasT Pop up podcast studio on the road every single day all the way till election night and maybe even beyond.
If you want to be notified as soon as new episodes drop in our podcast feed, please make sure you're subscribed to AmericaSt on BBC Sounds and have push notifications turned on in your phone settings.
That way me, Justin, Sarah and Anthony will land direct onto your phone as soon as it's ready.
Just what you've always wanted.
Anyway, here's today's episode.
Enjoy.
BBC Sounds, Music Radio Podcasts this election has turned out to be absolute rubbish, or garbage rather, because that is what is grabbing everybody's attention.
Just a few days before voting, we're having a serious debate about who's garbage.
It's like the playground.
You're garbage.
No, you're garbage.
No, you are.
No, you are.
But that's where we've gotten to.
And in many ways this could prove to be quite a serious issue because Anthony, somebody's going to come out smelling worse out of this, aren't they?
Either the Democrats or the Republicans.
Yeah, obviously, you know, this all started in Manhattan on Sunday with comedian referring to Puerto Rico as an island of garbage.
But then, and it looked like Democrats had an advantage, but then Joe Biden on to Tuesday night decided to try to condemn that rally and either misspoke or said it directly, depending on who you believe said that all of Trump's supporters were garbage.
So now we have both sides calling someone on the other side garbage.
