Hello Super Great Kids!
Happy Halloween!
Because it's Halloween we're giving you not one but two scary stories.
This is the first of two and if you're an Owlette we're giving you two extra stories on top of that.
This tale is called the Bougain and it's a slightly scary story but not very with a happy ending.
The second story is a bit scarier but it's well worth a listen
if you're feeling brave because it's told by the masterful storyteller Daniel Morden.
This first story is about a grumpy,
hairy creature called a Bougain and it comes from the Isle of Man which is a small island sitting in the Irish Sea between Ireland and Great Britain.
It has an unusual flag which is known as the Three Legs of Man and it looks a bit like three bent legs which sort of meet in the middle and make a cross shape.
The original language spoken on the Isle of Man is called Manx but sadly the last native speaker died over 50 years ago so they're trying to get people to learn the language again so
that it doesn't disappear forever.
Now,
just before I start our story could you have a think about your favourite Halloween costume which you've worn or you've seen someone else wearing?
And think why you like it.
Well we have a quick word with the grown-ups.
Ready?
