单集简介 ...

This week Outlook is coming from Singapore and today Rico Hizon takes us on a tour of the city through the extraordinary stories of people who live there. Douglas Ng is a hawker – a street food seller – preparing Singapore’s traditional fishball noodles in one of the town’s eateries. He learnt the recipe from his grandmother and still dreams of attending culinary school. Ang Song Kang - a.k.a. Chef Kang - started working in a kitchen because he had no food at home. He grew up the eldest of five siblings with a single mother and at just eight years old he started working to support them. He eventually got a job in a kitchen where he fell in love with cooking. With the help of a mentor he became a top chef. But his career didn’t always go smoothly, with financial and health issues threatening to derail his success. But his hard-working attitude paid off and he now runs a Michelin starred restaurant in Singapore. Presenter: Rico Hizon Producer: Alice Gioia and June Christie Picture: Ang Song Kang a.k.a.
