from complex MRI scanners to new medical treatments,
all to help unlock the secret of how our minds work.
But in spite of all these new insights,
It's important to remember that the quest to feel better is much older than these modern scientific tools.
The pursuit of happiness is a challenge that's occupied our species for a long time.
In fact, many long-dead philosophers, thinkers,
and spiritual leaders have had some powerful ideas for improving our well-being,
strategies that are just as relevant today in the age of the podcast,
as they were back in the time of Caesar or the pharaohs.
