This is Roger Bennett from Men in Blazers.
Think the accent of Matthew McFaddy and combined with the social skills of Cousin Greg.
And like millions of you, I adore Succession with its manic takeovers,
eye watering put downs throw fleeting glimpses of humanity smothered by greed,
aspiration, desperate cries for attention, and Chevroy power turtlenecks.
So one of your wider cultural interest is hate jerking to Instagram?
Just asking for a friend, tolstoy wrote in Anna Karenina, all happy families are alike.
Each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.
The Roy family are the exception,
their unhappiness so vast it seems to encompass the sum unhappiness of every other family in the world.
Living proof it's possible to have everything and nothing.
I truly believe the show's performances, the writing,
the humanity make Succession like Game of Thrones without the dragons and direwolves,
warring families, self destructive fights for power, and epic battle scenes,
albeit once fought out in the boardroom and not at Castle Winterfell.
Which is why I'm delighted to host HBO's Succession podcast,
a show designed to give you a weekly succession fix via a long form conversation with the people who make the show.
Such must watch, must process, must discuss.
Fair.
What are we, a fucking octopus giving.
