If Kyle and I were the stars of true detective, all crimes would go unsolved.
Especially because our old teammate Shirelli Najak, he would always say, I'm not worried about the focal point on the screen I'm watching around there.
That's where the good stuff is.
That's right.
We blew it.
That's exactly what he talks about.
We blew it.
We blew it.
We blew chunks.
Welcome to 32 thoughts, the podcast presented by GMC Kyle Bukoskas.
Elliot Friedman with you and Elliot when I first started at Sportsnet, long before I was working rinkside on NHL telecasts, I remember going to the rink, going to a morning skate, and being so struck by walking into the dressing room as all the media came in to interview players and seeing one Christine Simpson, who I had watched on my television for a number of years, interact with the players and the coaches, how much respect that she had and the appreciation that those players showed for her.
And I thought that was the ultimate tell at one of the ultimate tells of where you wanted to be in this business and being respected at that level.
And earlier this week, Elliot, Christine shared that her time at Sportsnet had come to an end.
She had been part of the fabric of the network since it first went on the air in 1998.
She is someone that we are going to miss.
Yes, Kyle, very well said.
So Christine lives in Toronto, but she goes back and forth to London, Ontario quite a bit to visit her family.
And that's about a two hour drive, give or take, depending on how slowly or quickly you drive.
And that was a place where she would always tell me that she would listen to the pod.
She used her drives to and from the city to catch up with the podcast and make sure she was up to date with it.
