  • So what are we going to look at today?

  • Well, in today's advanced lesson, we're going to look at idioms relating to happiness and sadness.

  • So we'll split it into two parts, one part about happiness, the other about sadness.

  • And as always, try to practice them, and if you don't understand them, come back to me.

  • We'll try to give you a few more examples.

  • Okay, so what have we got?

  • We've got five particular idioms relating to happiness, and we've got another five relating to sadness.

  • So look at happiness first of all, come back, give you some examples, and then do the same with sadness.

  • Okay, so let's get going.

  • Let's give the first one.

  • So, on cloud nine, well, the clouds are high in the sky, so when you're on cloud nine, you're really, really happy.

  • Oh, he's on cloud nine.

  • He got the highest marks he's ever got in his exams.

  • He's going to be able to go to university.

  • And what's more important, he's going to be able to do that engineering course that he hoped to do.
