  It is once again the time for China's two sessions, one of the most important political gatherings of the year to come under the global spotlight, offering media, personnel, and essentially the people the opportunity to get the answers from the country's government.

  The two sessions are definitely a window to the country's proactive development and are considered by many a true essence of socialism with chinese characteristics.

  But I don't want to assume that everybody who's listening are super familiar with NPC and CPPCC and understand the difference between the top legislature and the political advisory body.

  So how about we clear those confusions by doing a two sessions 101 1st?

  Tell us, what are the two sessions and why are they important?

  Sure, I would say the two sessions is China's biggest annual political event.

  And it really refers to the annual sessions of the National People's Congress, which is also China's top legislator and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Conservative Conference, or CPPCC, that is China's top political advisory body.

  And as you said, I think two sessions really offers a window or a channel for people to observe China's development for the past years and also understand its policy direction for the following year.

  So that's why it always caught a lot of attention during this time of the year.

  And also during the two sessions, the central government will deliver a work report that usually reviews past achievements and sets development targets for the year and beyond.
