Discussion keeps the world turning.
This is round table.
The digital economy has created many jobs previously unheard of.
In fact, many of us industry outsiders probably still don't know the ins and outs about the new professions involved in streaming, e commerce and multi channel networks, or mcns.
Hello, I'm Lo Lai Ming, and this is roundtable today with my colleagues Neil Holling and Brandon Yates.
We look at the unique challenges faced by people working with digital economy.
Brandon, we begin with you again.
Can you imagine what kind of jobs that are involved with regardless, ecommerce, live streaming.
I mean, there's the host, of course.
Yeah.
And I guess there's also copy editing work, video editing work, audio editing work.
So I think it creates a lot of opportunities for people in the creative space to figure out ways in which they can create jobs for themselves and others, which I think is really fantastic and progressive.
And I think it also reduces some of the previous problems that workers may have dealt with.
So, as, for example, commuting to and from work and also being limited to a certain city or a certain country when looking for work.
Because if you're working in the digital space, you can kind of find jobs all around the world, depending on language barriers, etcetera.
But even that can be reduced with subtitles, et cetera.
So I think it's innovative and it's also just creating a lot of opportunities for creative people to become very successful.
Sure.
Yeah.
I think, was it Amazon or some major tech firms in the US has allowed its employees to work remotely and move to a different city, but with deducted pay.
