Discussion keeps the world turning.
This is round table.
Long before american sitcom the Big Bang Theory declared that smart is the new sexy, we humans have been redefining what it means to be attractive in the dating market.
Of course, quarterbacks and cheerleaders still get the most attention.
But nerdy members of the society also are earning their fair share of respect from their peers.
And if someone can excel at both sports and math, they are practically angels on earth.
Hello, I'm Lai Ming, and this is roundtable with Li and Bradyn Yates.
We seek to find out why more and more people seem to be looking for high eye intelligence in their partners.
So there's a new term, sapiosexuality, that people are talking about over the Internet.
It stands for the kind of sentiment we get.
Some people get the kind of people find smart people sexually attractive.
That seems to be the concept that people are discussing.
Is that true?
I mean, there's been a study showing that about 8% of the population exhibit that kind of tendency.
Yeah, actually, when we talk about sapiosexual, people might already be quite familiar with this concept.
In a simple way, I think sapiosexuals really find smart brains attractive.
So if you are more attracted by the contents of a person's mind compared with the appearance of their body, then the chances are you might be a sapiosexual.
And I think it's much more complicated than the simple perception that, oh, they like to date smart people.
I think many people find intelligence attractive, and nobody really want to date dumb people.
But I think for sapio sexuals, they usually have a much stronger, as you said, sexual interest in this quality.
