There was a time when people used to make public announcements about marriage, death,
or apologies, or newspapers.
Today not everybody reached the newspaper, but more and more people travelled by the subway and studying that advertisements can be a viable pastime before the train arrives.
Recently, the subways in a number of Chinese cities have started taking requests from individuals as compared to the common practice of 2B businesses.
Hello, I'm Lyming and this is Roundtable.
Today with Newholing and Li Yi, let's find out what unique advertisements are being created and showcased in the subways in Guangzhou, Hefei, Hangzhou, and Chengdu.
Before we dive into the discussion, let me do a quick quiz here.
Newholing and Li Yi, do you ever pay any attention to the advertisements in subways?
Yes.
Yes.
Of course.
Name the most influential advertisement you can think of.
I only see the beautiful faces and maybe sometimes the product, but it does not leave a mark in my mind.
I have to admit.
Actually, one online tourism agency, they just got their advertisement on subway line one here in Beijing and it got my attention because I think their business is sort of declining.
So, I'm really happy for them to be shown on sort of these public places.
Now I understand why you're not naming that brand, it's just a rather nod.
Okay.
I'm quite interested and intrigued by the advertisement on influential performances like houses that have been staged in subways and there's this horsehead fiddler, a very
influential, very famous person who's staged his advertising in subway line one where we exit things in bubbles and stations.
