Hello.
Today we're going to be talking about temptation, which in my opinion, is one of the most challenging things that we deal with as human beings.
It's very constant and it never goes away.
For your whole life, it doesn't matter if you're two years old or you're 102 years old.
Temptation follows us throughout our lives.
When you're two years old, you fight the temptation to steal a candy bar from your friend at preschool.
And when you're 102 years old, maybe you're fighting the temptation to steal a magazine from the library.
Like temptation is always there.
The temptation to do things that don't align with you morally.
The reason why I think temptation is so difficult to deal with is that there are a lot of scenarios in life when not sticking to your moral code, not doing the right thing is so much easier and is so much more fun and is so much more exciting in the moment.
That's why things are tempting, because in the moment, they'll give you instant gratification.
You'll instantly win.
You know what I mean?
You'll have an instant hit of excitement.
The problem is usually things that are tempting that you know are wrong will end up leaving you miserable down the line.
Nobody gets away with succumbing to a temptation to do the wrong thing.
Like, nobody ever gets away with it.
I think people sometimes feel like they're gonna get away with it, like I've felt like before, oh, maybe I could get away with doing the wrong thing just this once.
But no, life doesn't work like that.
The universe, the way that the cookie crumbles, it never works like that.
