Hello and welcome to another episode of No Such Thing as a Fish,
a weekly podcast this week coming to you from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
My name is Dan Schreiber.
I'm joined by three other QI elves.
Please welcome to the stage it's Andy Murray, Anna Chasinski and James Harkin.
And once again we have gathered around the microphones with our four favourite facts from the last seven days and in no particular order here we go.
Starting with you, James Harkin.
Okay my fact this week is that dog pee makes street lights collapse.
You always hurt the ones you love.
How does it do that?
Well it's urea that you get in dog pee and it's corrosive and all over the world street lights are falling down due to dog pee.
There was a report that came out in San Francisco.
They were just keeling over these lampposts.
The pee was really ruining them and this is a quote from them.
We encourage people and dogs alike to do their business in other places like a proper restroom or on one of our fire hydrants.
The idea of the fire hydrants is they're made out of cast iron so they won't corrode.
Okay but I didn't know that that people pissing on lampposts was a thing.
I've only ever been doing it.
I don't know I've been clearly wasting my time.
Yeah because dogs like to urinate on things in order to mark it as their territory don't they?
