Hello, and welcome to another episode of No Such Thing as a Fish,
a weekly podcast coming to you from the QI offices in Covern Garden.
My name is Dan Schreiber, I am sitting here with Anna Chazinski, James Harkin, and Alex Bell.
And once again, we have gathered round the microphones with our four favorite facts from the last seven days,
and in no particular order, here we go, starting with you, James.
My fact this week is that scientists at MIT have invented an artificial intelligence that can see into the future,
but it can only tell two seconds into the future.
Totally useless.
What's it reported back?
It knew you were going to say that.
So this is really cool.
So what they did was, they got this algorithm to watch TV shows like The Office and The Big Bang Theory,
okay, and it watched what people did when they met each other.
So did you go in for a hug, or a kiss, or a handshake,
or a high five, and then when you showed them a picture of two people coming near each other,
it could work out what they were going to do, whether they were going to high five,
whether they were going to hug, whether they were going to kiss, or whatever.
So that's basically as far as this has gone so far.
It's still pretty good for an AI.
Yeah, and I'm surprised it was able to do this based on The Office and The Big Bang Theory,
