Hi everybody, just before we start this week's show, we have a bit of special news.
If you look at the episode number, we have done 300 podcasts.
It is quite astounding, isn't it?
Who would have thought it when we put that first episode out and we accidentally said it was a weekly episode?
That 300 weeks down the line, we would still be doing it.
Thank you so much for continuing to listen if you have done it.
If you stopped listening some time ago, you probably won't hear this bit, so don't worry about it.
Another really exciting thing about the 300th episode is it was recorded live in Vienna,
of all places, because we got given an award.
Yes, this is the Heinz Oberhummer Award for Scientific Communication.
Heinz Oberhummer was a physicist, he was a great Austrian scientist communicator,
and you know, just scientist as well as anything else, and comedian.
He very sadly died several years ago, but his colleagues have set up this award in his name and we were honoured.
We were so honoured to receive it.
I really hope you enjoy the show because we had a great time making it as well.
We had a right good laugh on this episode.
Are we going to say bye to the book this week?
Do you mean, are we going to say this is your last chance to buy the book of the year 2019,
an incredible book full of the most interesting stuff that's happened across the entire planet this year?
I wasn't going to say that, no.
