This wasn't a war that the president sold to the American public.
This was a war that Fox News sold to Donald Trump.
It's Wednesday, September 16th.
I'm Jane Koston, and this is What A Day, recording today from Washington,
D.C. Yet for more than five years, inflation has been running above target.
So our predominant focus is on the price stability side of our mandate.
Plain fact is that inflation is too high and has been for too long.
And they did it.
The Federal Reserve raised its interest rate Wednesday for the first time since 2023. The increase
is an effort to quell stubbornly high inflation.
Now we'll just get to wait for President Donald
Trump to start his tirade against his newly appointed Fed chair, Kevin Warsh.
Trump got his feelings hurt yesterday, too.
On Tuesday, the Trump-aligned Kennedy Center board voted to close most of the iconic performing arts venue.
The decision came just hours after a federal judge blocked the institution from returning Trump's name to the building.
In a post on True Social, Trump said the closure was needed for...
Repairs.
But apparently, those repairs, which Congress had allocated $257 million to cover,
could only happen if the board was allowed to move forward with plans to add his name to the building.
A federal judge has said twice that can't happen without the approval of Congress.
