  • Welcome to the Listening Time podcast.

  • Hey, everybody, this is Connor, and you're listening to episode 158 of the Listening Time podcast.

  • Thank you all for listening.

  • I hope that your English learning is going well.

  • I hope that you're enjoying these episodes and that this podcast has really helped you get into a routine of listening to English consistently every day, hopefully, because it's really helpful to repeat these episodes multiple times so that you can better understand all of the phrases and words that I'm saying.

  • So with these episodes, you have a lot of material to work with, so you should be doing some listening practice every day.

  • That should be your goal.

  • And in today's episode, we're going to talk about school events.

  • This will be a fun one because people all around the world know something about the high school experience in the US based on the movies that they've seen or the tv shows that they've watched.

  • And people are always curious about this.

  • They're curious to know about some of these things that they see in the movies.

  • And so I want to talk about some different events that happen during high school in the US, at public schools, and particularly how some of these events went for me when I was in high school, during my high school career.

  • So I'm sure that you'll enjoy this episode today.

  • And as always, remember that if you need my help understanding native speakers, because they speak fast and it's not clear what they're saying and their words kind of blend together.

  • Then make sure to join my membership so you can get my training to help you understand native speakers.

  • You'll get my listening practice seminars which help you understand the sound patterns in English, the different combinations of sounds that are difficult to understand.

  • I help you with all of that.

  • And if you choose to become a listening time family member in particular, you'll get my advanced podcast episodes in which I speak at normal speed.

  • So that's great practice to help you reach an advanced level of listening.

  • And you can also sign up for my US Conversations podcast if you want to practice with my conversations that I have with other english speakers from all around the country.
