Coming up on the podcast, Richard Restak, the highly respected professor of neurology joins us to discuss his latest book, how to prevent dementia.
There might not be a topic that everyone is immediately thinking about today, but as time progresses, there are few families left untouched by the challenges of this condition.
According to the WHO, Alzheimers, a form of dementia, ranks as the 7th leading cause of death globally.
Joining Restak in conversation today is Alex Wilkins, news reporter for the New Scientist.
Lets join Alex now with more.
Our guest today is doctor Richard Restak, clinical professor of neurology at George Washington University and previously the president of the American Neuropsychiatric association.
He has lectured on the brain and behavior at the Pentagon and NASA and written more than 20 books on the human brain.
His new book, which we'll be discussing the themes of today, is how to prevent dementia, an expert's guide to long term brain health.
Richard, welcome to the show.
I'm very much excited to speak with you about the book.
