The author and journalist whose debut novel acts of desperation told the tale of a self destructive university dropout and topped critics lists in 2021, returns with a new book this year, Ordinary Human Failings.
Our host for this episode is Holly Williams, herself an author, journalist and critic.
Shes formerly staff writer and arts editor for the Independent and her work has appeared in titles ranging from the New York Times to the FT.
Her latest novel is the start of something, coming soon in 2024.
Lets join Holly Williams, now in conversation with Megan Nolan.
Megan Nolan is an irish and award winning author cutting to the quick, the most uncomfortable facets of the human experience.
Her latest book, Ordinary Human Failings, follows Tom, a young tabloid reporter doing a grisly scoop after a young child is murdered on a London council estate.
Local suspicion is pinned on the reclusive green family and their youngest member, ten year old Lucy Green.
But as Tom works to tease out salacious details of a family that appear rotten to the core, what is brought into relief is a far richer portrait of morally grey characters woven together by intergenerational trauma.
Welcome to Intelligence Squared, Megan.
