Coming up on the podcast, Alexander Christie Miller, the journalist and now author, has a new book to the city, exploring the past and present of a place he called home for nearly a decade, Istanbul.
Joining Alex to talk about it is Hannah Lucinda Smith, turkey correspondent for the Times and Monocle.
Shes the author of books including Erdogan Rising, which follows the ascent to power of Turkeys strongman leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Lets join Hannah now with more.
Alexander Christie Miller was correspondent for the Times of London, based in Istanbul between 2010 and 2017, and his work has also appeared in Newsweek, the Atlantic, Der Spiegel and the White Review, among other publications.
He's also the author of to the life and death along the ancient Walls of Istanbul, which is out now.
And we're going to be discussing that book and its themes today.
