Hello and welcome to Intelligence Squared, where great minds meet.
I'm head of programming, Conor Boyle.
How many greens do you eat in a week?
It's not a competition, but our guest today, cookery writer, broadcaster and star of the much loved river cottage series of tv shows and cookbooks, Hugh Fernie winning stalls, says you can eat 30.
Not in one sitting, though.
Hugh's new book is how to eat 30 plants a week.
And aside from it being a book brimming with delicious recipes, it's a call for us to think about our diet and how mass produced ingredients lead us ever more astray away from a naturally nutritious diet.
This recording is our recent intelligence Squared live event, which took place at London's bush hole.
Hugh was joined on stage by scientist and nutritionist Federica Amadi.
Federica is head nutritionist and head of science communications at Zoe.
This is part one of a two part conversation.
