Maria and I have specially selected different idioms to talk about lots of different areas in your life to bring up your level of English to a high standard.
First of all, I'm gonna give an example, paraphrasing the idiom.

I know what idioms we are going to be talking about, but I haven't seen the sentences, and I have no idea what order they are going to be in.
You know, when I started teaching Ielts, I didn't know much about ielts.
Oh, is that because you were in the dark about it?
Correct.
To be in the dark about something, not know about something.
Okay.
So when I started teaching, I was in the dark about ielts, so I didn't know much about ielts.
You can also say I was in the dark a lot when I applied for university, for example.
Or I'm still in the dark about english articles or english idioms, so I'm still in the dark about something.
Or you can also say, like, my friend kept me in the dark about his plans.
Can I use it as a question?
Are you in the dark?
Yeah.
Or is someone in the dark about something?
