I'm going to read each sentence twice, and then I'll explain to you the little nuances, the little differences or issues.

We use that often at the beginning.
Of a sentence when there's a certain amount of uncertainty.
And also we use it sometimes to make the sentence a little bit more polite and a little less direct, or as we call it, indirect.
