4 分钟Hi there.
Welcome back.
I'm Harry, and we're helping you, hopefully, with your understanding of English, in particular some grammar aspects through different sentences.
And this is geared for those of you who are learning English at around intermediate or just below that level.
And as always, if I can help you, please contact me.
And I give my details at the end of this particular audio.
So I'm going to read a sentence to you.
I'm going to read it to you twice.
I'm also going to leave a little gap so that you perhaps can practice the pronunciation if you need to.
And we'll work on it from there.
Okay, so here's the first reading, if you're ready.
My grandmother would visit me every Saturday when I was growing up.
Second reading, my grandmother would visit me every Saturday when I was growing up.
Again, this is a little bit connected with the first two sentences because we're talking about something in the past, but here we're using the expression would visit me.
We could say, my grandmother used to visit me.
Remember that?
From the first reading?
Today my grandmother would visit me.
We could also say my grandmother used to visit me and would have exactly the same meaning.
My grandmother would visit me every Saturday.
