  • Hi there and welcome back.

  • This is Harry and I'm happy to be here with you again.

  • And as always, I'm going to help you, I hope, with your english grammar, and it's aimed for those of you at around intermediate or below that particular level, as I've done in the past.

  • I'm going to read you a sentence.

  • I'll read it twice, once just for you to listen to it, and then the second time to get a better understanding.

  • And then I'll explain to you the individual grammar points within that sentence and I will leave a gap where you might like to practice the pronunciation.

  • And as always, I'll give you at the end of this particular podcast the contact details if you wish to contact me directly.

  • So if you're comfortable and you're ready, let's begin.

  • So here is the first sentence and the first reading.

  • He blushed with embarrassment when his mobile went off during the film.

  • Second reading, he blushed with embarrassment when his mobile went off during the film.

  • Okay.

  • So we have a lot of grammar points within that and some words to explain.

  • He blushed with embarrassment.

  • Well, that's quite formal.

  • He blushed means he was annoyed or a little bit upset and ashamed of himself that his mobile phone rang during the film when he thought he had switched it off.

  • So blushed.

  • B l u s h e d.

  • Blushed means he went red in the face because he, he was embarrassed with what had happened.

  • Blushed with embarrassment.
