5 分钟Hi there.
This is Harry, and thanks for joining me.
Here we are again with our podcast where we're trying to help you with understanding your english language.
And this is specifically geared for those of you learning English in around the intermediate level, slightly below or slightly above.
It'll cover all aspects, and we're looking in particular at grammar and meanings, expressions, and also some pronunciation.
And as always, if you have any questions you want to contact me, you'll find the contact details at the end of this short podcast.
As always, I'm going to read the sentence I have for you twice, once for a general understanding, and then when I read it the second time, I'll give you some more clear understanding of words and phrases and give you an opportunity to practice some pronunciation, should you wish.
Okay, if you're comfortable, let's begin.
Here's the first reading.
An 18 year old who has just passed his driving test isn't ready to drive the family car alone.
Second reading, an 18 year old who has just passed his driving test isn't ready to drive the family car alone.
Okay.
A very profound statement that I'm sure that might resonate with a lot of you out there where your children have passed or about to pass the driving test, and they really want to get their hands on.
They want to get the keys to the family car.
So you have to be careful.
I remember the first time I got my father's car.
And of course, yes, I had a slight little accident when somebody scratched it or I scratched it, I can't remember, but he wasn't best pleased.
Okay, so let's read it again.
An 18 year old who has just passed his driving test isn't ready to drive the family car alone.
So we're talking about a particular person.
