6 分钟Hi there.
This is Harry.
And welcome back to our weekly podcast where we try to give you some help in relation to learning your English to help you to become better english speakers.
So, what do I have for you this week?
Well, we changed it a little bit.
So the first part I'm going to talk to you about is hypothesis.
Hypothesis.
So, hypothesis is where we make an assumption based on some logic or some reasoning.
Okay?
So I'm going to give you a few examples of that.
So here's the first example.
And when we're using hypotheses, there are certain words that are quite appropriate in the english language to use that would indicate that you're hypothesizing on some particular aspect.
So hopefully this will be clear in what I give you.
So, the first example, speculating for a moment, I think she might be asked her opinion of the current political mess.
So the first word we have here is speculating.
And this is a real good, strong indication of some hypothesis.
So speculating.
To speculate means to guess.
In this case, the person, perhaps a parent or a friend, is speculating for a moment.
Just thinking.
