7 分钟Hi there.
This is Harry, and welcome back to our podcast where I try to help you to improve your english language and particularly your conversational English.
And what do I have for you today?
Well, we're going to look at what I call strong adverbs in conjunction with adjectives and where these adverbs will make the adjective sound stronger.
For example, if I said the tall man, tall is the adjective, but if I use a strong adverb because it the very tall man.
So he's not just tall, he's very tall.
So we're going to use some of these strong adjectives, and the adjectives.
Sorry.
Adverbs.
And the adverbs I'm going to use are inadequately, unavoidably, inexcusably, and fully.
Okay.
Inadequately, unavoidably, inexcusably, and fully.
I'm going to use them with two adjectives for each one.
So if we take inadequately.
So I've got inadequately investigated.
Okay.
This means that something was not investigated properly.
So if there was a crime and the detectives didn't find the killer or the criminal, they missed some vital information.
So the report might say that the investigation was inadequately investigated.
So, not badly investigated, but really poorly inadequately investigated.
