6 分钟Hi there, this is Harry, and welcome back to my podcast, where I try to help you with your understanding of the english language so that you can try and improve your ability to communicate with other people as a non native speaker and hopefully enjoy your conversations a little better.
So, what do I have for you in this particular podcast?
Well, here we're going to look at some idioms, and these idioms are, again, themed, and they're about home or homes.
Okay, so idioms about home or homes.
So we start with an easy one, which we often see on somebody's wall.
Home, sweet home.
Home, sweet home.
Well, it means what it says.
Yeah.
My home is sweet or dear to me or my home is a place of refuge where I always like to get back to.
It's a place where I hold dear to my heart.
So home sweet home.
So, after a long time away on business or even after a long holiday, even though you might have enjoyed the holiday, you might say, ah, I love to be at home.
I love to return home.
Home sweet home.
It's where I'm really most happy and most comfortable.
Okay, so we all have that feeling, I hope, about our homes.
Home sweet home.
And another idiom which is very similar to that is home is where the heart is.
Home is where the heart is.
