  • Hi there.

  • This is Harry.

  • And welcome to our podcast where I try to help you to understand your english language, where I use some expressions, some phrases, phrasal verbs, grammar, sentences, to explain to you how they are put together so that you can communicate better with people that you meet, who you want to communicate with.

  • So what do I have for you now?

  • Well, I have now a sentence that I'm going to read for you a couple of times.

  • I'll break it down into its different parts and I'll try and explain the grammar parts in that so that you'll understand them more clearly.

  • So here's the first reading.

  • French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged to create a new reserve around Mont Blanc as part of a raft of environmental policies.

  • Okay, so news about the french president.

  • And he visited Mont Blanc and took a walk through the beautiful ice glacier there.

  • I've been in it myself many, many years ago.

  • It's quite an amazing piece of engineering, natural engineering.

  • So if you haven't been there when you get a chance, you should go and pay a visit.

  • So here's the second reading.

  • French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged to create a new reserve around Mont Blanc as part of a raft of environmental policies.

  • Okay, so what does this mean?

  • Well, we're talking about the french president.

  • And we start with the capital letters.

  • And we have capital letters for French because it's the beginning of the sentence president because that's his official title and then his name, Emmanuel Macron.

  • So both have capital letters.
