7 分钟Hi there, this is Harry, and welcome to the podcast where I try to help you to understand English through the use of grammar, idioms, idiomatic expressions, phrasal verbs, etcetera, so that you can enjoy your English in a much better way.
So what have I got for you in this particular podcast?
Well, here we're going to talk to you about new words.
Yeah, we're going to talk to you about new words that have come into the english language.
And, you know, we're going to give you new words without even mentioning selfie.
Well, I had to mention that once, but I'm not going to mention that again.
It's a word that has been used now for five or six years, and it's not really a new word anymore.
It's a, it's an oldie.
So we'll focus on some new expressions.
Okay, so I'll give you these expressions, give you the meaning of them, and then you can see how you can use them.
Okay, so let's start with the first one, social distancing.
Well, here's an expression that has crept into our language very quickly and very suddenly.
None of us, certainly I had never used it in the past, and now we're using it all the time.
Social distancing.
Social distancing, everything that keeping that 2 meters distance between you and the next person in the queue to get into the supermarket.
Social distancing.
When you go out in the park for a walk to make sure you're that 2 meters, at least from anybody else, 2 meters away from somebody on the subway or the metro, not so easy to do.
But social distancing.
This is the expression that we're going to hear time and time again.
And perhaps in the future, everything will be about social distancing.
