9 分钟Hi there.
This is Harry.
And welcome back to my podcast where I try to help you to get a better understanding of the english language, where you can communicate on a much more free basis with your neighbors, your colleagues, anybody that you meet when you go traveling.
So how do I do that?
Well, we help you with the grammar.
We help you with english expressions, idioms, phrasal verbs, all sorts of aspects connected with the english language.
So what do I have for you in this particular podcast?
Well, we're going to talk about some verbs, and in particular we're going to talk about verbs connected with cooking.
I know everybody loves cooking, or everybody says they love cooking.
I like to cook when I have time, I don't always have it.
And one thing that this horrible coronavirus has given us is some time when we can spend at home to cook instead of going out to get takeaways or eat in restaurants.
So that has some advantage.
Not a lot, but some.
So what I'm going to give you is a list of individual verbs, and then I'm going to give you a sentence where we can use each of them.
And some of them are quite specific.
So the verbs that I'm going to use are add, bake, boil, chop, fry, grate, spelt g r a t e, grate, mix, peel, roast and squeeze.
Okay, so how do we use them and what particular foods can we use them with?
Well, let's take the first sentence.
John decided to the beef in the oven for 2 hours.
