We're going to look at the word strange and look at alternatives.

Okay, so let's get started.
We're going to look at the word strange.
So there are many ways in which we can use the word strange.
You know, we can say, oh, that's a strange thought, or he's a strange person, or just simply that strange.
Yeah.
Now, and every time I teach and every time I talk to students and every time I do some practice with them, particularly written work, I try to encourage them to find synonyms so that they don't repeat that same word over and over again, particularly when they are doing some exams, I think it's really important to identify different words and demonstrate to the examiner that you can use alternatives and that you have a broader and wider vocabulary.
So let's have a look.
Strange.
Well, here are a number of words.
I'll give them to you and then I'll try and explain them with the use of some examples.
Weird, bizarre, odd, quirky.
Q it's a quirk, quirky, eccentric, surreal, and it's got double r s u r r surreal.
And off the wall in here we've got a hyphenated off hyphen the, and then funny.
Okay, but funny.
Not in a ha ha ha way, but funny in a peculiar way.
