Hi there.
This is Harry, and welcome back to my podcast, where I try to help you to get a better understanding of the english language, trying to help you to improve your conversational English, your business English, and your general use of English, where we use phrasal verbs, other idiomatic expressions, and of course, grammar and also pronunciation.
So in this particular podcast, we're going to have a little bit of a change, and I'm going to talk about fish.
Yes, fish.
Fish we find in the river, the sea, whatever.
But there's a little twist to it.
I'm just going to give you some words connected with fish and how we use fish and certain expressions to express ourselves or to explain something to somebody.
Somebody was asking me to slow down a little bit in my podcast, so I'll try to speak a little more slowly.
Again, if you don't have a problem, play it over a couple of times trying to get your ear adjusted.
Okay, so we're going to talk about fish.
There are lots of different species of fish, and when we talk about fish, we always use it in that single fish.
Sometimes we say fishes.
You know, there are many species of fishes, but usually fish.
I'm going to buy some fish for dinner.
What are we having for dinner tonight?
Oh, we're going to eat fish, or we are having fish.
So it doesn't matter whether it's one or it's two, or indeed, it can be a piece of fish or several pieces of fish.
