  • Hi there, this is Harry, and welcome back to my podcast where I try to help you to get a better understanding of the english language.

  • To help you with your grammar, phrasal verbs, expressions, and other ways to understand words in a better way, give you some synonyms and alternatives for words to avoid being a little bit boring by using the same words to describe activities, actions, books, films, whatever.

  • Okay.

  • And with the help of these podcasts, I know it will help you to be feeling more confident when you're talking to people, either individually or on a group basis.

  • And as always, if you want to contact me and give me some suggestions or things that you're having problems with, then I can incorporate and include those in future, future podcasts.

  • At the end of the podcast, I'll give you my contact details.

  • And if there's anybody out there that you're talking to, friends, colleagues, and you think they would be interested, well, pass on the details.

  • Okay, so what are we going to look at in this particular podcast?

  • Well, what we're going to look at are some alternative words that mean interesting.

  • Okay, so interesting, of course, and a nice word, but we get a bit fed up using it all the time.

  • Not everything can be interesting.

  • Oh, an interesting book, an interesting film.

  • Oh, that's very interesting.

  • Blah blah, blah, blah blah.

  • And it gets a little boring.

  • And if you're using this word a lot, then you might want to have alternatives.

  • If you're planning for a conference or you're going to sit an exam in English.

  • Well, you certainly need some alternatives because people like to see variety.

  • I love to use variety in the words that I use, and it's important for you to try the same.

  • So I'll give you a list of these alternative or other ways to say interesting and then give you a couple of examples.
