9 分钟Hi there.
This is Harry.
And welcome to my podcast, where I try to help you to get a better understanding of the english language, particularly when you want to converse and have conversations with other people in dialogue and also business English.
And today we're going to focus on pronunciation, a really important part of the language.
And today's episode of the podcast is sponsored by the letter double U.
So it sounds two u's.
So we'll go through the words and some examples, how to say it, how to get that sound, and as always, if you want to pass on details to your friends, please do so.
Delighted to hear from them.
And as always, I will give you my contact details at the end of the podcast.
Okay, let's get on with this.
So we're looking at the letter w.
Okay.
And when we have words with the letter w, we've got particular where, when.
Okay, it's not there or then where, when.
So it's not a v sound, it's auu sound.
So how do you make that sound?
Well, to make the w sound, put your lips in a tight circle and the lips should be rounded and then move them or push them away from your face.
W w and so your top teeth don't touch the bottom lip.
W w, so lips vibrating.
It's quite a strong sound.
