  • And welcome back to the podcast, where, again, we're going to focus on pronunciation.

  • And this particular podcast is brought to you courtesy of the letter z.

  • Or if the Americans say z.

  • Yeah.

  • So we're going to look at the pronunciation and the sounds with that.

  • As I said, it's about the letter z.

  • Now, you might think that the letter z isn't so important because we don't find it in so many words.

  • Of course, there are very few words where it acts that actually begin with the letter z, but it's still important from the sound.

  • Okay, so british pronunciation Z.

  • American pronunciation, Z.

  • So if I wanted to go to the zoo, I might want to go to the zoo to look at the zebra.

  • Yeah, but the Americans might want to go to the zoo to look at the zebra.

  • Yeah, same animal, different pronunciation.

  • Or if I want to cross the road, I go to the zebra crossing.

  • Okay.

  • And we always used to have a joke where somebody said, did you see the zebra crossing?
