  • Hi there.

  • This is Harry, and welcome back to my English lessons.

  • And what are we going to talk to you about today?

  • Well, I'm going to talk to you about the word funny and different ways to say funny.

  • So it's not just to entertain you, of course.

  • Hopefully you will be entertained, but it's also to help you to broaden your vocabulary, to have different ways to say the same thing.

  • So, particularly when you're writing or even when you're speaking to people you don't like and shouldn't use the same word over and over again, and if you're preparing for some test ielts or other type of english examination like that, it's really, really important to have a wider vocabulary.

  • So if you're writing an essay, you're not repeating the same word, the first paragraph, the second paragraph, and so on.

  • So hopefully with these exercises, I'll give you a little bit of encouragement to help you to use different words.

  • Okay, so we're going to talk about funny and different ways to say funny.

  • So let me give you the list of them, and then, as always, I'll go through them one by one to give you a few examples.

  • So we're talking about funny.

  • It is.

  • Or it was amusing.

  • Hilarious.

  • Again, they got hilarious, witty, comical, humorous, wacky, droll, entertaining, side splitting, and then some expressions, I burst out laughing.

  • It cracks me up.

  • Or it cracked me up if you want to use it in the past.

  • Okay, so let me take them one by one and go through them with you.

  • Okay, so let's take the first one then.
