15 分钟Hi Matt here.
If you want to continue finding tools to a successful and happy life, I recommend listening to the happiness lab hosted by Yale professor Doctor Lori Santos.
Doctor Santos has studied the science of happiness and has found that many of us do the exact opposite of what will make our lives better.
Based on the psychology course she teaches at Yale, she will take you through the latest scientific research and share some surprising stories that will change the way you think about happiness.
This season, shes tackling topics that affect her own life like stress, perfectionism, and boredom.
If you struggle with any of those, or if it sounds like you could learn more about increasing happiness in your life, then listen to the happiness lab right here in your podcast player.
As the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on all the amazing advice weve heard on think fast talk smart.
Today, I want to share with you my top ten bits of advice that I am directly applying to my life.
My name is Matt Abrahams and I teach strategic communication at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Welcome to think fast, talk smart.
The podcast allow me to share with you the top ten bits of advice that I personally have been applying in my life.
I'm going to list these in the order in which they aired.
Ill share the episode number and the guests names so you can take advantage of these learnings as well.
Lets get started with takeaway number one from episode 80 with Jonah Berger.
Verbs to nouns I love language and persuasion.
And when Jonah talked about the persuasive impact of turning verbs into nouns, I was fascinated.
He used the example of trying to get people to vote more.
It turns out asking people to vote is not as effective as asking people to become a voter.
Similarly, asking people to help is not as effective as asking people to be a helper.
Often we describe ourselves using an adjective or again, a verb.
