单集文稿 ...

  • Welcome to Easy stories in English, the podcast that will take your English from ok to good and from good to great.

  • I am Ariel Goodbody, your host for this show.

  • Today's story is for pre intermediate learners.

  • The name of the story is the beetle and the boy.

  • This is chapter one of three.

  • You can find a transcript of the episode@easystoriesinenglish.com Beetle one that's easystoriesinenglish.com beatleone Beetle one.

  • This contains the full story as well as my conversation before it.

  • Today's story is an original story.

  • It's a story that I wrote myself and I have to say I am very proud of it.

  • The genre is romance, and romance is not a genre I write very often.

  • I used to not really read any romance at all, but now I read it occasionally and I write it occasionally and I really enjoyed writing this story.

  • I actually came up with the story through free writing.

  • So free writing is where you just start a timer, maybe for ten minutes, and you write and write and you don't stop writing until the timer runs out.

  • It's a really great way to let out creative energy.

  • If you're not feeling very creative, it can help you work past that problem.

  • And I do it every now and then just to try and find new ideas.

  • A problem I have with free writing though is that I often write chapters like I write parts of really big stories that I just can't write the whole thing.

  • I can't write ten novels at once.

  • But occasionally every now and then I come up with a story like this, which is contained.

  • It's short and I really am happy with it.
